We are Mike Usher and John Jerome - long-time friends who have a passion for cooking and a love of good food and fine wines. We both had great jobs working in the corporate world, but longed for the slower pace of a small town. One day while we were trying new recipes and drinking some really great wine, we decided it was time to follow our dreams of entrepreneurship and pour our energy into something we truly love--cooking and entertaining.

We already knew and loved Saugatuck , Michigan with its quaint village atmosphere and location next to beautiful Lake Michigan. It reminded us of the villages in Cape Cod and Europe. The Butler Pantry was always one of our favorite stores and when we found out it was for sale, it seemed that fate was presenting us with the opportunity of a lifetime.
